Everyone’s Got The $2 Excuses

Like; “I’ve got my first day of grad school tomorrow” or, “I have to go to my job at a major publishing house in the morning” and so the stakes are laid out, right? It’s Oliver’s last night at work before he goes back to school so the options are:

  1. Be a little bitch.
  2. Go big.
  3. Go home.

Luke’s does not mess, everyone went, and goes big. I’ll also say that the learning curve in NYC is steep. It’s sink or swim all day. “Harden the fuck up.”

Option 2 Every Night of the Week

Where did we go, who was there, what did we do?

  1. Check 4square.
  2. Everyone that needed to be.
  3. Got crazy.

So yeah I mean it feels really good. Doing the things I’m doing, and spending time with the people I’m spending time with, and I’m sad to see Oliver go. The theme song, aside from Steve Winwood, and the Bud Light Lime commercial on Pandora was

“Save tonight, fight the break of dawn come tomorrow, tomorrow I’ll be gone.”

When It’s Time To Leave

Goodbyes are said, (I don’t remember this) we walk back to the train, and Sam has this bottle. Yeah, I’m on the downtown 6 train drinking Bacardi Razz. I’m on the Brooklyn bound L, drinking Bacardi Razz. I get off the train, find my bike, (because I rode my bike to the train yesterday) almost crash my bike. Somehow ride home. Open the door at the stoop and there are my Levi’s that I ordered last week. 501 originals, button fly, shrink-to-fit, raw denim. Just chilling there on the stoop at 3am. ELATED I take them upstairs. Somehow though—and I don’t remember this—I carried my bike up the 3 flights without incident and opened my package. There they are, my new adult-style jeans. A pair of Black and a pair of Blue. Problem is that I can’t tell them apart. The colors are too similar so I do what any rational adult would do: I take a sharpie and label them by color, on the fucking brand tag on the back!

Tomorrow comes to take me away. I wish that I, that I could stay. Girl you know I’ve got to go. Oh, lord I wish it wasn’t so.

I wake up right at 9am, went to McDonalds (i’m not proud) and ate my feelings. Gained 20 followers this morning. Hey, folks this is my life. Thanks for getting on board. The fare is low, but the ride is bumpy, and it smells a little funny in the back. Cost benefit, you know?
