Black-red, popcrunchsplat on molars, as sweet and as bitter as firsts with Jenny N., under slides at recess, between bunk beds, in the darkness of the backseat on long car rides home, when we rolled our tongues over firm flesh, lips pursed on the word “push”, gentle bites and plucks of stems, we bumped teeth at her brother’s sleepover, we fumbled in the back of movie theaters, cola spilling over floors not as sticky as our hands, our jaws tightening around gulps of spit and air.
